Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will check in and go through the security checkpoint where officials will check your required documents. Our tour guide will greet you, take your luggage to our transfer vehicle and drive you to Arusha city. On arrival at the hotel, our driver-guide will assist you with the check-in process and the hotel porter will take your luggage to your room. You can relax at the lodge after the long journey.

This small but beautiful Tanzanian national park is the closest one to both the famous Arusha “safari town,” located 40 km away, and Kilimanjaro International Airport, making it ideal for one-day safaris or tours. Not only is the park’s wildlife abundant, but it is also one of the most beautiful and topographically varied parks in Tanzania. The park’s three most significant features include the rugged Mount Meru (Tanzania’s second-highest peak at 4,566 m), the notably different-colored Momela Lakes, and the three km-wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed about fifteen million years ago.

Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah, and acacia parkland. It is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular during the dry season between June and September. During this period, thousands of animals—wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and oryx—migrate from the dry Maasai Steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. Predators, including lions, leopards, and others, follow closely behind, as is customary in the savanna. Birds are also abundant here, and over 550 species have been recorded.

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Natron with a picnic lunch in hand. Expect to see a vast, shallow soda lake and a white carpet of soda and salt crystals cracked into a polygonal patchwork. You may also see flamingo nests, which resemble miniature volcanoes. It is a bizarrely beautiful breeding ground and home to thousands of flamingos feeding on blue algae. Other wildlife found here include zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, ostrich, fringed-eared oryx, lesser kudu, gerenuk, and golden jackal. You may also see a crater from a volcanic implosion.

Seronera is one of the world-famous attractions in the Central Serengeti, covering an area of 1,800 square miles of long-grass plains, savannah, riverine areas, lakes, and granite kopjes. In addition to offering excellent game viewing throughout the year, the Seronera Valley supports a greater diversity of resident wildlife than anywhere else in the Serengeti, including elephants, giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, hippos, topi, reedbucks, buffalo, and baboons.

There are tremendous wildlife viewing opportunities at the Maasai Kopjes in the Moru Area of the Central Serengeti. The craggy hollows and smooth granite crests of these towering granite kopjes are home to one of the Serengeti’s lion prides. The nearby swamp, where the rare Bohor reedbuck can be found, is also a famous hunting spot for the resident lion pride. Kopjes are remarkable in that they have their own little ecosystems, with a range of vegetation and wildlife, including hyrax, mongoose, lizards, and birds. Black rhinos inhabit the area year-round, while wildebeest and zebras can also be seen in large groups.

Today we will take a scenic drive from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater, passing through beautiful landscapes. En route to the Ngorongoro Crater, we will stop at a Maasai boma to enjoy traditional dances and learn about Maasai culture, including how they live alongside dangerous wild animals such as lions.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world, covering approximately 260 sq. km, with walls rising 600 meters from the crater floor. Before the Ngorongoro Volcano exploded and collapsed about two million years ago, the area was home to some of the tallest mountains in the region. Today, it is home to more than 30,000 large mammals, mainly gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, and warthog, and has one of the highest predator densities in the world.

Lake Manyara National Park is a unique and picturesque park with a stunning lake, inspiring views, and incredibly varied wildlife and birdlife. Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that forms part of the Rift Valley and lies at the base of the dramatic western escarpment, giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich birdlife, rare tree-climbing lions, and hippos, which you can see at closer range here than anywhere else.

Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the airport to connect your flight for further travel.
